Cardboard Takeaway Containers: Kraft and Corrugated Boxes
Cardboard takeaway containers at Packery come in two families: corrugated boxes (dinner boxes, family packs, catering boxes, open trays) and kraft or cardboard boxes (rectangular kraft containers, chips boxes, cones, burger holders and windowed lunch boxes). Every one is sold by the carton, and each product page shows the carton price and the price per item.
Key takeaways
- Corrugated boxes cover the larger formats: the Corrugated Takeaway Container – Brown Dinner Box Plain (Carton of 150) is 178x160x80mm at $0.42 each.
- Kraft rectangulars come in 750ml and 1000ml, made from paper with a PLA coating, at $0.35 and $0.40 each.
- Chips boxes, cones and burger holders are plain cardboard and run from $0.09 to $0.18 each.
- Most of these boxes can be custom printed with your logo; the two kraft rectangulars and the Envirorange Open Tray 3 cannot.
- There is no minimum order, and delivery is $35 flat to metro areas (free over $750).
What is the difference between corrugated and kraft takeaway boxes?
Corrugated boxes are built from fluted board, so they are the format used for dinner boxes, family packs, catering boxes and open trays. Kraft and cardboard boxes are made from flat paperboard, which is what you get in chips boxes, cones, burger holders, sandwich wedges and the coated rectangular containers.
In the Packery range, the material is listed on every product. The corrugated items are listed as Corrugated (and the cake box as Corrugated + PET). The flat-board items are listed as Cardboard, Cardboard + PLA (where there is a clear PLA window or panel), or Paper + PLA Coated for the kraft rectangulars.
Which cardboard box suits which food?
Match the box to how the food is eaten. Handheld items go in open formats, plated meals go in clamshell-style boxes, and shared platters go in catering boxes.

Do kraft containers have a lining?
The two kraft rectangulars are listed as Paper + PLA Coated, so they have a PLA coating on the paper. The Kraft Takeaway Container – Coated Rectangular 750ml (Carton of 300) and the Kraft Takeaway Container – Coated Rectangular 1000ml (Carton of 300) share the same 172x120mm footprint and differ only in depth (57mm and 75mm), so you can run both sizes for small and large portions of the same dish.
The chips boxes, cones and burger holders are listed as plain Cardboard. The sandwich wedge and the windowed lunch box are listed as Cardboard + PLA, where the PLA is the clear window. If you want boxes sold specifically as compostable, see our guide to compostable takeaway containers, which covers products named that way.
Can I get cardboard takeaway boxes printed with my logo?
Yes, on most of this range. Custom printing with your logo is available on selected products, including the dinner box, white family pack, catering boxes, sandwich wedge, lunch box, chips boxes, cones, burger holders and cake box. The two kraft rectangulars and the Envirorange Open Tray 3 are not available for custom print. See custom printing for how it works.
